Position Summary
Responsible for assembling electrical equipment, mainly overhead cranes. Reads and interprets instructions, assembles parts and tools, and fits electronic components together.
Job Duties
- Work safely and responsibly in an industrial environment by adhering to all OSHA and internal safety policies
- Read and interpret drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, or reports
- Operate overhead cranes and forklifts as required for material handling
- Use best practices to meet production schedule and quality assurance requirements
- Inspect wiring installations, assemblies, and circuits
- Assemble electrical or electronic systems or support structures and install components, units, subassemblies, wiring, or assembly casings, using rivets, bolts, soldering or micro-welding equipment
- Adjust or repair electrical equipment
- Test product to ensure conformance to specifications as a finished product
- Assemble and build products such as electrical panels, electronic motor control devices, inner connection between components and sensing equipment
- Fabricate or modify parts, using shop equipment
- Verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to blueprint specifications, using instruments, such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges
- Other duties as assigned
Education
A high school diploma or GED preferred; trade school or military experience a plus
Experience & Skills
- Experience in a manufacturing environment required; prior overhead crane electrical and lifting industry preferred
- Experience with three phase motor controls and variable frequency drives strongly preferred
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to lift and operate heavy electrical machinery
- Excellent hand-eye coordination
- Ability to operate and understand electrical meters
- Ability to create and interpret technical documentation
- Basic computer skills such as emailing, record keeping, ordering, inventory management and form filing
- Willingness to work in flexible shifts
- Must be able to lift or pull a minimum of 50 pounds
- Must successfully complete a criminal background check, drug screen and E-verify
