A Day in The Life
As a Benefits and Compliance Administrator Mo' Bettahs you will be responsible for administering employee benefits programs, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and maintaining the integrity of HR systems. The Benefits and Compliance Administrator will collaborate with various departments to promote a healthy work environment and provide employees with resources and guidance regarding their benefits.
Benefits Administration:
- Administer employee benefits programs such as health insurance, retirement plans, wellness programs, and other company-offered benefits.
- Handle open enrollment processes, including employee communications and enrollments.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefit inquiries and issues.
- Coordinate with insurance brokers, providers, and vendors to manage relationships and resolve issues.
- Process benefits enrollments, changes, and terminations in HRIS as needed
- Reconcile benefits invoices and ensure timely payments.
- Conduct regular audits of benefits data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Compliance Management:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, such as the Affordable Care Act (ACA), COBRA, ERISA, FMLA, and others.
- Assist in developing and implementing policies that promote a compliant and fair workplace.
- Maintain all required employee records, including benefits documentation, following legal requirements.
- Assist with internal and external audits related to benefits and compliance matters.
- Manage employee leaves of absence (e.g., FMLA, maternity, disability) and ensure compliance with related regulations.
- Manage all types of insurance relationships and ensure all are current and active for the company.
Employee Support & Communication:
- Provide education and support to employees regarding their benefit options, plan details, and compliance requirements.
- Develop and deliver benefits communication materials, including presentations, memos, and newsletters.
- Coordinate wellness programs and initiatives to promote employee health and engagement.
- Assist in resolving employee issues related to benefits and ensure a positive employee experience.
HR System Management:
- Maintain and update employee records related to benefits and compliance in HRIS.
- Ensure accurate reporting and documentation for compliance with regulations.
- Generate reports and provide analysis on benefits usage and costs for management review.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 4-6 years of experience in benefits administration, HR compliance, or a related role.
- In-depth knowledge of employment laws and regulations, including ACA, COBRA, ERISA, FMLA, and HIPAA.
- Experience with HRIS systems and benefits management software.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

- Experience with Outlook Calendar, MS Word, Excel, and monday.com
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The position requires qualified individuals to see, hear, and speak (verbally and audibly). Required to ascend and descend stairs; sit and stand for extended periods of time; lift up to 30 pounds; bend, stoop, and kneel. May be required to work outside in various weather conditions. May be required to work on a computer for extended periods of time, including viewing the screen, using a mouse, manipulating a keyboard with hands, and reaching with arms. May be asked to drive or travel by car, air, or other transportation for business purposes. Must be able to function effectively in a fast-paced working environment.
