JOB SUMMARY
The Residential and Commercial Roofing Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and maintaining the schedules for all residential and commercial roofing projects—including roof replacements, repairs, and gutter installations. This role ensures that roofing crews are efficiently deployed, materials are ordered and delivered on time, and customers are kept informed about any schedule changes. The Scheduler works closely with roofing crews, superintendents, and vendors, proactively adjusting plans in response to weather conditions, material delays, and unforeseen circumstances. This position requires strong organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple scheduling tasks in a fast-paced environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and manage daily, weekly, and monthly schedules for residential and commercial roofing projects.
- Coordinate the deployment of replacement, repair, and gutter crews to ensure full utilization and minimal downtime.
- Monitor weather conditions and other external factors to proactively adjust schedules.
- Organize the timing of material deliveries and equipment (e.g., dump trailers) to align with project needs.
- Review job orders to determine required materials and ensure orders are placed accurately.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to secure on-time, cost-effective delivery of materials.
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers regarding scheduling updates and changes.
- Provide timely and accurate project status updates, including notifications of delays or adjustments.
- Address customer inquiries and feedback to maintain clear and effective communication throughout the project.
- Utilize CRM software to maintain up-to-date and detailed project statuses.
- Prepare and distribute detailed instructions for roofing crews regarding job-specific requirements and scheduled tasks.
- Collaborate with superintendents to ensure on-site operations align with scheduled plans.
- Maintain daily checklists and follow-up procedures to ensure smooth scheduling operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 2-4 years in the roofing or construction industry, with a focus on scheduling, logistics, or coordination.
- Prior experience in a scheduling role within a construction or roofing environment is preferred.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with crews, vendors, and customers.
- Proficiency in scheduling software, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Detail-oriented and proactive, with strong problem-solving capabilities.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with roofing construction practices and terminology is a plus.
- Bilingual abilities (e.g., Spanish) are preferred.
