PN 122 Medical/Surgical Nursing II: Mondays & Wednesdays 7:00am-3:30pm or 2:00pm-1030pm (clinical course)
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Demonstrates knowledge of subject matter and an awareness of new developments in the field.
Integrates didactic content into the student(s) clinical assignment.
Communicates with course faculty regularly to track student progress or to develop performance improvement plans to support student learning.
Responsible for conducting the mid-semester and final clinical evaluations.
Assigns, supervises, plans experiences, and evaluates students in practice learning environments based on course and program student learning outcomes.
Provides support, guidance, and instruction on all aspects of patient care while at the clinical facility or laboratory classroom.
Demonstrate procedures and patient care in clinical or laboratory nursing settings.
Provide feedback to the assistant dean of nursing, program director, and clinical placement coordinator on the appropriateness of the health care agency in terms of teaching/learning environments for students.
Provides feedback to course faculty on student preparedness regarding curriculum.
Attend course-specific orientation on campus with the Assistant Dean of Nursing and course faculty.
Participate in clinical faculty mentoring as identified by the Assistant Dean of Nursing and course faculty.
Participate in the Program’s continuous improvement efforts, which include BORN and ACEN requirements.
Maintain appropriate paperwork and documentation required by the program
