Position Summary
The Cyber Range Manager will be responsible for the technical and business operations of the MassBay Cyber Range under the management of the Office of Information Technology and in collaboration with the Cyber Security Center of Excellence (CCE) and Center for Cyber Security Education. Included in this oversight are cyber range activities, such as planning the training events, establishing relationships, collaborating with stakeholders, and ensuring the efficient operation of technical infrastructure and resources. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cybersecurity, experience managing technical teams, and a passion for education. The Cyber Range Manager will work closely with the Employer Relationships Manager to build partners.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Build relationships with cities, towns, and local businesses promoting awareness of the Range and the programs at MassBay.
Develop and implement training programs for cybersecurity professionals and other stakeholders, including government agencies, municipalities, private companies, and academic institutions.
Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure that training exercises meet their needs and objectives.
Coordinate efforts with the other public Cyber Ranges, particularly in Massachusetts.
Manage Cyber Range scheduling, training, and performance management.
Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in cybersecurity training and development.
Provide technical expertise and support to customers and stakeholders.
Plan and organize cybersecurity events and workshops for students, faculty, and community members including all activities related to Cyber October and Fortify February.
Establish partnerships with community organizations and businesses to promote cybersecurity awareness and training.
Collaborate with faculty and instructors to enhance cyber range operations and assist faculty with incorporating cyber range scenarios and/or labs into courses.
Monitor training exercises and provide feedback to participants and stakeholders.
Prepare reports and presentations on Cyber Range activities, usage, metrics, and outcomes for internal and external stakeholders.
Participate in business development activities, including customer engagement and proposal development.
Contribute to grant writing and fundraising efforts to support Cyber Range operations, programming, and outreach activities.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, cyber security, or related field.
5 years of experience in cybersecurity.
3 years of experience managing technical teams.
Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, practices, and technologies.
Experience with networking and system administration.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Knowledge of standards and practices related to information security, including state and federal regulatory requirements related to HIPAA, FERPA, PCI, and risk management.
Work in-person on the Wellesley campus of MassBay Community College, where the Cyber Range is located.
Be able to travel within Massachusetts to visit other Cyber Ranges and to meet with external stakeholders.
