SHIPPING/FULFILLMENT SUPERVISOR - Shipping

MBI, Inc., one of the nation’s leading direct marketing companies, is looking to hire a take-charge, hands-on individual who wants a challenging supervisory position monitoring the work of 6 to 12 employees and fulfillment operations in our Torrington location.

The successful candidate must be motivated, energetic, and dedicated to the highest standards of excellence. A minimum of two years of supervisory experience is required in a relevant warehousing environment.

Location: Torrington, CT

Schedule: 6:45am to 3:45pm, Monday - Friday with overtime and/or second shift during peak season (November-December)

Supervisor Responsibilities Include:

• Supervise the shipping area (processing orders including matching documents to orders, picking & packing, sorting, labeling and loading out to shipping carriers)
• Maintain a safe work area that is neat and organized
• Proven track record leading a successful team
• Emphasis is on monitoring and developing individual contributors to achieve results at a highly effective level
• Record and approve weekly associate timecards and payroll
• Work with the department manager to establish and monitor daily labor plans based on work backlogs
• Monitoring daily workloads and ensuring the team is working efficiently
• Ensuring the team is performing work accordingly to standard operating procedures
• This is an “on the floor” job with 70-80% of your time working with your team ensuring workflow.
• Providing feedback, writing regular employee performance reviews and evaluations

Skills:

• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent communication skills, both written/email and verbal

• Motivated, energetic, and dedicated to the highest standards of excellence
• Previous experience supervising a team of 6 -12 or more

Qualifications:

• High school diploma/GED preferred
• Minimum two years of relevant experience supervising in a warehouse/fulfillment setting
• Experience in labor/capacity planning based on work volume/backlogs
• The ideal candidate should be comfortable using computer systems daily, including Outlook, Excel, Word and experience with WMS systems used to manage inventory and orders
• Spanish language skills are a plus
