Summary
The Electro-Mechanical Engineer will design and support the manufacturing of electrical and mechanical systems used on Cobalt boats. Must be proficient in troubleshooting DC systems, reading, interpreting and developing electrical schematic diagrams as well as utilizing a variety of equipment for accessing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems. The qualified candidate will be responsible for new product innovation of electrical systems that include, but are not limited to the innovative designs; specification creation; electrical schematic creation; managing multiple suppliers in design execution; validation; and integration into the manufacturing process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities.
- Work daily with multi-discipline teams on new product design and continuous improvement of in-boat electrical and mechanical systems.
- Design and maintain wiring harnesses and schematics, ensuring all electrical systems are integrated efficiently and effectively.
- Assume the lead engineer’s role on multiple assigned projects; including, but not limited to wiring harnesses, lighting, sensors, and other powered systems.
- Project management of multiple projects and suppliers, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, quality, and design specifications.
- Regularly identify opportunities for product improvements and re-engineer designs to enhance the form, fit, and function of current and new designs.
- Establish validation standards, develop testing protocols, and document test results for all in-boat electrical systems.
- Use engineering and computer design software to complete assigned work.
- Ensure proper cross-departmental coordination and effective communication of all assigned projects.
- Develop test scopes involving multiple supplier interaction and facilitate integrated test plans.
- Assist customer service team with technical support and field repair solutions if needed.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:
- BSEE, BSME, or related degree from ABET accredited university preferred
- Boat operation experience preferred
- Experience in common hand tools required
- Understanding of basic DC electrical systems and diagnostic equipment
- 3D solid modeling preferred; AutoCAD required; NX and Rhino preferred
Language Skills: English required. Effective communication skills necessary. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Reasoning Ability: Must maintain a strong understanding of general problem solving, logical reasoning, and root cause analysis.

- Excellent computer skills in Microsoft
- Knowledgeable in NMMA, SAE, and IEEE standards preferred.
