About the job... You will oversee all HR functions to support a 24 / 7 manufacturing environment, ensuring HR strategy aligns with business objectives. This role includes team development, policy creation, HRIS management, benefits optimization, employee relations, compliance, and culture leadership. The HR Manager serves as a trusted advisor to leadership, fosters a positive and inclusive workplace, and ensures compliance with labor laws.
- Schedule : 7 : 30 AM – 4 : 30 PM (Monday – Friday) with flexibility for a 24 / 7 operation.
- Environment : Manufacturing setting, requiring occasional hearing protection.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership & Team Development
Develop and mentor the HR team, setting clear performance expectations and ensuring accountability.Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.Align HR initiatives with company goals, ensuring proactive workforce planning.Delegate effectively and maintain a balance between being approachable and authoritative.Recruitment & Onboarding
Lead full-cycle recruitment for hourly and salaried roles, including strategic workforce planning.Develop staffing strategies to meet fluctuating manufacturing production demands.Oversee onboarding programs, ensuring smooth integration and early employee engagement.Enhance employer branding and candidate experience to attract top talent.HRIS Management & Process Improvement
Manage HR technology (HRIS) to streamline processes and improve efficiency.Ensure data accuracy, reporting, and analytics for workforce planning and compliance tracking.Train managers and employees on HR systems to improve adoption and usability.Compensation, Benefits & Employee Engagement
Develop competitive compensation and benefits programs that attract and retain talent while balancing cost management.Implement creative employee recognition programs tailored to a manufacturing workforce.Monitor and act on employee engagement surveys, driving initiatives to improve morale.Culture Leadership & Employee Relations
Serve as the face of company culture, reinforcing values, inclusion, and engagement.Promote open communication and foster positive relationships between leadership and employees.Proactively address workplace concerns to mitigate conflicts before escalation.Develop and implement initiatives to support diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).Compliance & Legal Oversight
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, including OSHA standards.Lead workplace investigations and handle sensitive personnel issues with discretion.Maintain up-to-date policies, employment records, and HR documentation to support compliance and risk mitigation.Advise leadership on labor law updates and potential impacts on workforce strategy.Strategic HR & Business Alignment
Align HR initiatives with business objectives, supporting growth, efficiency, and employee satisfaction.Use HR data and analytics to drive decision-making and improve HR outcomes.Work closely with senior leadership to implement change management strategies.Act as a confidant and trusted advisor to executives, providing guidance on complex workforce challenges.QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).5 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a manufacturing environment preferred.Experience managing HR in a fast-paced, high-turnover setting.HRIS expertise, including implementation and optimization (ADP Workforce Now or similar preferred).PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.Strong knowledge of employment law, compliance, and workplace investigations.
