What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance Auditor position at MC Federal Credit Union?

The Quality Assurance Auditor will perform a variety of audits for the Credit Union to ensure that the delivery of products and service to our membership is completed accurately and within the appropriate guidelines. The Quality Assurance Auditor will identify opportunities to improve Credit Union operations and will make appropriate recommendations to Management. This position is located in the Danville branch and reports to and is supervised by the Chief Lending Officer.

Essential Duties

  • Develop a strong knowledge of the account opening processes, lending products, including product types, forms, disclosures, and system requirements.
  • Complete a review of new accounts, loans, and supporting documentation to ensure conformity with Credit Union policies and procedures, as well as compliance with governing regulations.
  • Research discrepancies and communicate with colleagues to address non-conforming accounts, loans, and practices.
  • Maintain tracking spreadsheets to identify potential trends of nonconformity and report observations to management for resolution.
  • Assist in the development of training materials and procedures to improve processes to reduce errors, improve efficiency and meet compliance requirements.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Credit Union policies, procedures and practices in the areas assigned; with sufficient knowledge of applicable laws and regulations governing credit unions
  • Knowledge of consumer and commercial services generally offered by financial institutions, including deposit accounts and lending products.
  • Advanced attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong analytical and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint) and Adobe

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree in finance, accounting, or related subject area (preferred), or proven equivalent experience (required).
  • Ability to identify and correct discrepancies.
  • Ability to interact with others to correct discrepancies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Dedicated work ethic with personal and professional integrity
  • Ability to undertake and complete multiple tasks, meeting deadlines.

Environmental Conditions

  • The tasks for this position normally are performed in a temperature and humidity-controlled, indoor office environment. Exposure to ambient outdoor weather conditions may occur entering and exiting the workspace.

  • Ability to handle multiple complex issues and problems simultaneously
  • Ability to perform mathematical computations normally associated with auditing.
  • Ability to communicate audit results in both written and verbal formats to a diverse audience.
