The Process and Controls Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and optimizing equipment and processes to enhance safety, efficiency, and overall plant output while identifying cost-effective improvements.
Requirements
- Ensure that all products meet safety, legal, and quality standards.
- Perform all tasks safely, following McAirlaid’s Safety Policy and OSHA standards.
- Provide advice and consultancy support for process and control improvements.
- Collaborate with multifunctional teams to implement best practices and reduce downtime.
- Assist with troubleshooting, repair, installation, and setup of automation equipment.
- Modify, troubleshoot, and configure PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and other automation software devices.
- Create backups and restore various programs on PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs.
- Read and interpret electrical and mechanical diagrams.
- Use power tools proficiently for maintenance and repair tasks.
- Lift and carry equipment, climb ladders, and work in various conditions as needed.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of ladder logic, HMIs, and drive parameterization.
- Fundamental knowledge of induction and servo motors.
- Fundamental knowledge of Profibus and Profinet protocols.
- Strong electrical/instrumentation control training and experience.
- Knowledge of components such as sensors, actuators, power supplies, and contactors.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to multitask, pay attention to detail, and learn new technologies.
- Proficiency in computer use, interpersonal communication, and organization.
- Ability to work effectively in a multifunctional team.
- Positive interaction with employees at all levels within the organization.

Pay is based on experience and skill level.
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:00pm
Work 7 out of 14 days every two weeks. Every other weekend is a 3-day weekend off!
