The Process and Controls Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and optimizing equipment and processes to enhance safety, efficiency, and overall plant output while identifying cost-effective improvements. This role demands a proactive approach in collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement best practices and reduce downtime, ensuring that all products consistently meet safety, legal, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure all products comply with safety, legal, and quality requirements.
• Execute all tasks safely, adhering to the company's Safety Policy and OSHA standards.
• Offer expert advice and consultancy on process and control enhancements.
• Collaborate with multifunctional teams to implement best practices and minimize downtime.
• Assist with troubleshooting, repair, installation, and setup of automation equipment.
• Modify, troubleshoot, and configure PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and other automation devices.
• Create backups and restore various programs on automation systems.
• Interpret electrical and mechanical diagrams to support maintenance tasks.
• Use power tools effectively for repair and maintenance operations.
• Manage physical tasks including lifting, carrying equipment, climbing ladders, and adapting to various working conditions.
Skills & Qualifications:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient understanding of ladder logic, HMIs, and drive parameterization.
• Basic knowledge of induction and servo motors.
• Familiarity with Profibus and Profinet protocols.
• Solid training and experience in electrical/instrumentation controls.
• Knowledge of components such as sensors, actuators, power supplies, and contactors.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and quickly adapt to new technologies.
• Proficiency in computer applications and effective interpersonal communication.
• Demonstrated ability to work successfully within a multifunctional team environment.
• Positive and collaborative attitude with colleagues at all organizational levels.
