The House Manager assumes the role as a leader in planning, organizing, coaching and facilitating shift clinical functions and staff to assure quality service for the assigned shift. Responsible for meeting DNV standards, complying with the organization's policies and procedures, for managing supplies and equipment on shift, for promoting teamwork with physicians and all healthcare providers, for promoting internal and external customer satisfaction and for appropriate resource management. Responsible for personnel, management, and coordination of nursing service activities for the scheduled working shift, in accordance with established philosophy, objectives, and policies of the hospital to ensure safe, efficient, and therapeutic patient care. Relates effectively with other shifts for continuity of care and, in the absence of the Director of Nursing Services, takes charge.

The House Manager is responsible for facilitating continuous throughput of patients from all points of entry by utilizing effective verbal communication, swift clinical decision making, and deployment of ancillary services. The House Manager is the liaison between all clinical departments,* Hospital/Medical Administration.
