PRIMARY PURPOSE:
To support and assist the Elementary and Secondary strategists and part time testers in the coordination of GT nomination, testing, scoring, coding of students for the Gifted and Talented/Advanced Academics program. Coordinating student data collection and reporting of student and personal data. Assist with organizing the collection of staff development records for Gifted and Talented.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma or equivalent, required
Minimum of 48 college hours and/or business courses, preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Utilize effective interpersonal skills; ability to interpret and communicate policies and procedures relating to student data collection; interpret policy, procedures and data; knowledge of general computing equipment and software, able to communicate in Spanish, required
Clerical and computer knowledge
Experience:
Experience in administering, scoring and interpreting test data, preferred
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in school setting, background in working with gifted and talented students, preferred
Minimum of one (1) year of experience in performing multiple office tasks, preferred

Hourly Pay Range:
Minimum: $13.00
Midpoint: $15.60
Maximum: $18.20
Note: Starting pay for a new hire in a pay range plan will be determined individually based on each person's job-related experience and salaries paid to peer employees in the same position with similar experience.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Support strategists to identify Gifted and Talented/Pre-AP, AP, MYP/DP, and IB students K – 12.
2. Maintain an updated list of identified gifted/talented students.
3. Maintain the PEIMS identification of all GT students alongside the Advanced Academics “Blue Book” through SharePoint and Skyward.
4. Complete extensive word processing, data analysis, Google classroom assignments with various computer program in a timely manner with minimum errors.
5. Support Advanced Academics GT strategist and part time testers with nomination, testing, scoring, recommending and documenting assignments for gifted students and high achieving students.
6. Organize, inventory, order and store assessments for Gifted and Talented program.
7. Maintain, organize and package for storage following the retention policy, the assessment results for Gifted and Talented nomination and screening.
8. Prepare, publish and distribute to all campuses the Kingore Observation Inventories and planned experiences for student nomination process through district print shop.
9. Deliver testing materials to campuses and/or test students at campuses.
10. Record and monitor student nomination and assessment data collected to validate accuracy of information entered on profiles.
11. Administer, norm and record Gifted and Talented qualitative and quantitative assessments on spread sheets K– 11th grade, complete student profile reports for eligibility committee review.
12. Participate in the preparation and administration of practice SAT and ACT exams for DUKE or SAT School Day.
13. Participate in the organization and distribution of the PSAT or other college readiness exams for middle school and high school students.
14. Assist Advanced Academics staff with verification, organization and preparation of student data on program participation for entry into PEIMS file as required by law.
15. Assist bookkeeper and strategists in processing training and travel forms, as they pertain to Advanced Academics.
16. Type materials, memos and forms for the testing strategist to implement the identification process.
17. Assist with purchasing, inventory and distribution of supplies to all MISD campuses.
18. Maintain the staff development records.
19. Maintain the collected works and planned experiences exemplars.
20. Organize and maintain storage of testing materials, and other testing supplies.
21. Answer phone and questions, communicate with parents regarding program, determine which calls are routed on.
22. Follow McAllen ISD customer service standards.
23. Perform other duties assigned by immediate supervisor (primary evaluator).
