Accounts Receivable Manager

Job Title: Accounts Receivable Manager Level: Exempt
Department: Accounting Reports to: Controller Backup: CFO
1.0 ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
1.1 Process daily invoice batches.
1.2 Assist AR clerks with daily cash postings/pulling deduction back-up, etc. to ensure that lockbox and ACH deposits are posted timely and accurately.
1.3 Assist order entry specialists as needed with all incoming manual and EDI order to ensure timely and accurate processing.
1.4 Process daily transmission of invoices once posted.
1.5 Review AR aging. Work with credit and collections specialist on aged accounts.
1.6 Clean up any invoice issues and support customer inquiries regarding incorrect invoices, rejected shipments, etc.
1.7 Close out monthly AR period.
1.8 Set up new customer addresses in Sage and Merchant systems.
1.9 Approve deductions for GL write-offs.
1.10 Process anywhere from 150-200 invoices on a daily basis. Up to 300 during busy season.
1.11 Balance and post cash deposits ranging from 20-100 checks daily with a total ranging from $800,000 to $2 Million.
1.12 Process manual and EDI orders ranging from 50-250 per day.
1.13 Other duties may be assigned.
2.0 SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
2.1 Responsible for managing 6 employees.
2.2 Approval of time off requests, expense reports and team activities for the 6 accounting employees.
2.3 Cross-train employees within Accounting department.
2.4 Delegate new tasks/processes to appropriate employees within the department.
2.5 Responsible for making daily bank deposits.
2.6 Responsible for handling all cash received and credit card payments.
3.0 LANGUAGE SKILLS
3.1 Ability to read and interpret documents such as federal and state laws, legal documents, safety rules, operating and procedure manuals.
3.2 Strong ability to communicate with others with written and verbal communication.
4.0 MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
4.1 Ability to perform advanced calculations and formulas.
5.0 REASONING ABILITY
5.1 Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
