McCall-Thomas Engineering is seeking an experienced Fiber Construction Manager in Lumberton, NC. The Construction Manager will need experience with outside plant and inside plant cable construction in aerial and underground facilities, with a thorough knowledge of all issues related to local and state permitting, pole and conduit licensing procedures from utilities, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
The Fiber Construction Manager will manage multiple construction contractors. From make ready, receipt of the construction sheets, material auditing, construction management, splicing, testing, as-builts and close-out, the Fiber Construction Manager will ensure that jobs are completed to client and McT specifications on time and within budget.
The manager will need to know and understand RUS Construction. Electrical Distribution Design or construction experience is a plus.
As a McCall-Thomas Fiber Construction Manager, you will be joining a team of dedicated individuals committed to our mission of providing quality solutions and services to each of our clients.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Fiber Engineers
- Conduct initial constructability review in accordance with project specifications
- Manage development of permit and construction plans
- Order and track delivery of 3rd party materials
- Oversee site construction, managing schedule and subcontractors to customer and internal requirements
- Coordinate all construction activities with local and state agencies with regards to permitting and licensing
- Ensure that all jobs are maintained in a project tracking system with complete accuracy
- Solve issues that may occur onsite and make recommendations based on need and priority to ensure adherence to the project and budget specifications
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company construction standards, processes, and procedures
What Will You Need:
- High school diploma
- Strong computer skills
- Valid driver’s license
- Eligibility to work in the US without any sponsorship
- Outside plant and inside plant cable construction experience in aerial and underground facilities
- Thorough knowledge of all issues related to local and state permitting, pole and conduit licensing procedures
- Knowledge of RUS construction specifications
McCall-Thomas Engineering has contracts with several utilities in neighboring states to provide storm damage assessment support in the event of severe weather. Our Electric division employees are required to be available to travel for our Storm Damage Assessment response team when called, either as a Driver or as an Assessor. Details will be discussed in more detail in an interview.
