McCall-Thomas Engineering Company is seeking a full-time Groundhand for work located primarily in the following areas: Aiken, SC, Lexington, SC and Lumberton NC. (This new hire will not report to the Orangeburg office.)

McCall-Thomas Engineering is a multi-faceted engineering firm housing multiple divisions including the Communications Engineering Division, the Electrical Engineering Division, the Electric Utility Service Division, the Electric Field Operations & UAS, as well as the McT Learning Center and Print Services.
As a McCall-Thomas Groundhand, you will be joining a team of dedicated individuals committed to our mission of providing quality solutions and services to each of our clients.
The primary responsibilities for this role will require that you:
- Work as a part of a line crew
- Load, unload, layout and prep tools/supplies/equipment/materials needed at each job site
- Assist as required in all manual labor aspects of the project as directed by the Lineman, Lead, or Supervisor
- Handle physically demanding construction duties as needed
What Will You Need:
- High School diploma or GED
- Eligibility to work in the US without sponsorship
- Must be able to follow instructions and have good communication skills
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, dig, and reach.
- Must be able to climb ladders.
- Must be able to travel as needed- project locations will change
- Must be able to perform strenuous physical labor under all types of weather conditions
- Must be committed to working safely
- Clean driving record
McCall-Thomas Engineering has contracts with several utilities in neighboring states to provide storm damage assessment support in the event of severe weather. Our Electric division employees are required to be available to travel for our Storm Damage Assessment response team when called, either as a Driver or as an Assessor. Details will be discussed in more detail in an interview.
