Responsibilities
The Account Manager is responsible for identifying, developing relationships, booking and producing events with those who need catering services
Create customized and distinctive catering proposals. Therefor prior knowledge and capability in writing food & beverage menus is required.
Background in food & beverage operations, including understanding of kitchen, Back of House & Front of House duties preferably with catering operations are favored
Identify and develop sales opportunities
Coordinate and execute outreach, referrals and face-to-face appointments
Collaborate with the Sales team on pursuing all appropriate opportunities for client solicitation and relationship building
Collaborate with the Sales Team on proposal development that exercises creativity, discretion and independent judgment in determining how to assemble an event to suit each client's taste and budget
Develop solutions to any cost concerns and resolve any challenges or problems
Negotiate terms acceptable to the company and reconcile differences to get clients to yes
Develop contingency plans and act promptly and effectively when closing problems arise
Oversee information gathering to final event production and implementation of the event
Organize production schedules, attend tastings, site walks
Assist in planning the floor plan for the event
Lead production meetings to disseminate information to various departments
Place orders with additional vendors as needed
Create final paperwork and distribute it to various departments
Attend events to oversee successful execution from start to finish
Process invoices / purchase orders to ensure payments to vendors as needed
Maintain and nurture clients to create long-lasting relationships
Deliver a high level of client service, meet commitments, seek client input and anticipate client needs
Follow-up after events with clients and venue managers
This is a full-time post. Attendance will be required in line with the business requirements, including at weekends, holidays and in the early mornings as well as evenings.
