Carpenter/Laborer

Job Summary:

McCarroll Design & Building Company LLC is seeking a hardworking and dedicated individual to join our team as an independently contracted construction technician. The ideal candidate needs no prior training but should be eager to learn and possess a strong work ethic. This is a physically demanding role that involves working in various weather conditions and carrying out a wide range of construction-related tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation and cleanup of construction sites
• Load and unload building materials and tools
• Operate various hand tools and power tools
• Dig trenches, backfill excavations, and compact soil
• Perform basic carpentry, paint, and tile work
• Follow all safety guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
• Communicate effectively with other team members and supervisors
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Minimum 18 years or older (or 16 with successful completion of a state-approved CTE construction program)
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proficiency in basic math for measuring
• Ability to perform physical labor and work outdoors in various weather conditions
• 2 years experience in direct/related fields
• Willingness to learn and take direction from others
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good communication skills
• Willingness to work overtime when necessary

Physical Demands:

This job requires the ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting heavy objects, operating power tools, and working in confined spaces. The candidate must be able to stand, walk, and stoop for extended periods of time and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Salary & Schedule:

Rates are negotiable based on experience, productivity, and reliability. Schedule is flexible depending upon the nature of each job task.

THIS IS AN INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR (1099) POSITION. We cannot guarantee full 40 hours per week, but expect to provide enough work to keep the ideal candidate working at a near-full time capacity.

Independent contractors must carry professional liability errors & omissions insurance.
