What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chief Strategy Officer position at MCCNO?
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Provide strategic oversight and direction to ensure consistent progress and successful implementation of organizational priorities.
- Organize and facilitate MCCNO’s development projects, including the headquarter hotel and upriver site, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
- Lead cross-departmental efforts to integrate headquarter hotel and upriver site projects into operational plans, collaborating with senior leadership to identify and prioritize initiatives that drive organizational growth and sustainability.
Develop and implement reporting systems and performance metrics to track progress and measure the outcomes of development projects and strategic initiatives.
- Provide regular updates to the CEO and executive leadership team on milestones, challenges, and outcomes.
- Ensure adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards for all strategic initiatives.
Facilitate and align the efforts of consultants and external partners involved in headquarter hotel and upriver development projects to achieve seamless execution.
- Serve as the primary liaison between executive leadership, the organization, and external advisors to maintain project cohesion, ensure clear communication, and uphold accountability.
- Evaluate and recommend consultant engagements based on project needs and strategic alignment.
Coordinate the development and implementation of MCCNO’s intergovernmental relations and annual agenda.
- Advocate for policies and initiatives that support MCCNO’s mission and regulatory compliance.
Support the development and maintenance of strong relationships with local stakeholders, community leaders, and business partners, and other external entities.
- Identify opportunities to collaborate with stakeholders to achieve shared goals and mutual success.
ACCOUNTABILITIES FOR SUPERVISION
Participate in decisions related to the selection, promotion, transfer, pay and discipline of assigned personnel.
Orient employees to MCCNO policies and procedures; clearly communicate job duties and responsibilities so individuals may proceed with certainty in the performance of their positions.
Personally conduct or oversee training for new employees to ensure established procedures are clearly understood and followed.
Monitor the work performance of assigned event personnel on a continual basis, conduct effective performance appraisals, and take corrective action whenever necessary.
Create a working climate in which assigned personnel are motivated to develop their skills and abilities and demonstrate by personal example the desired standards of conduct and work performance.
Administer MCCNO policies in a fair and equitable manner with regard to discipline, tardiness, absenteeism or insubordination and fully document all incidents and actions taken.
