Nations Capital Energy Solutions, a family-owned business, is looking for a passionate, detail-oriented Energy Rater to join our team in the Fairfax, VA area. If you’re enthusiastic about promoting energy efficiency and ready to grow within a supportive, dynamic company, we want to hear from you!
Trainee pay ranges from $18 to $22 per hour, with certified HERS raters earning $50K per year.
Duties:
- Perform Home Energy Inspections in compliance with RESNET standards.
- Prepare detailed written reports of inspection findings.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with clients throughout the inspection process.
- Complete necessary paperwork for internal reporting.
- Maintain equipment in line with company policies and manufacturer specifications.
- Adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
- Read, write, and comprehend technical instructions.
- Utilize computer software including MS Word and Excel.
- Troubleshoot and solve problems efficiently.
- Stay organized, motivated, and dependable.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be willing and able to work in extremely confined spaces with high temperatures typically found in attics and other uncomfortable spaces.
- Ability to work in attics, basements, and crawl spaces.
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions.
- Ability to climb, balance, kneel, crawl, and lift.
- Ability to work on ladders and with hand/power tools.
- Ability to frequently lift and move 50 pounds unassisted.
License Requirements:
- RESNET HERS Certification required or ability to acquire certification within a reasonable timeframe.
Additional Requirements:
- Personable, well-groomed, and articulate with the ability to convey technical information clearly.
- Organized, self-motivated, and enthusiastic.
- Willingness to obtain additional certifications/licenses as needed.
- Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
