Job Description:

Position: Human Physiology Teaching Assistant
Revision Dates: 2/2025
Reports to: Assistant Professor Kinesiology
Department: Kinesiology
Hourly Rate: $15/hour
FSLA Status: Non-exempt
Location of Position: Gill Gymnasium, McDaniel College, 2 College Hill, Westminster, MD 21157
Duration of Appointment: 2/24/2025 - 5/16/2025
Schedule: Schedule is at discretion of supervisor
Evaluation Procedures: Student workers are evaluated on a continuing basis
Scope: This position is for students who have completed and performed well in Human Physiology (lecture and lab). The student will provide supplemental instruction to students in enrolled in Human Physiology (lecture and lab) by overseeing weekly review sessions (1-2 hours/week).
Responsibilities:
- Answer students' questions (within reason) on course material.
- Work with their supervisor to create handouts consisting of questions and terminology for students to study with every week.
- Host weekly review sessions (1-2 hours/week) to recap material covered in lecture and to provide answers to handout.
- Relay concerns or issues to their supervisor.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Current undergraduate at McDaniel College
- Must have achieved at least a B- in Human Physiology lecture and passed the lab portion.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
Physical Characteristics:
The overall setting of the job is in an area conducive to a normal office environment with minimal exposure to adverse conditions.
