Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented individual to drive the governance, controls, and integrity of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting. This role will be responsible for ensuring ESG data accuracy, regulatory compliance, and alignment with reporting standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial controllership, reporting processes, and sustainability frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:
ESG Reporting & Compliance:

  • Oversee ESG data governance, internal controls, and reporting processes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and audit readiness.
  • Ensure compliance with ESG reporting regulations (e.g., CSRD, SEC climate disclosures, ISSB) and internal policies.
  • Support the integration of ESG metrics into financial reporting in alignment with established accounting standards.
  • Partner with Finance, Legal, Sustainability, and external auditors to ensure a controlled ESG reporting environment.

Data Integrity & Controls:

  • Develop and implement controls for ESG data collection, validation, and reporting.
  • Establish a framework for ESG risk identification, assessment, and mitigation.
  • Support the implementation of technology solutions to enhance ESG data management and reporting.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Work cross-functionally with Finance, Sustainability, Risk, and Investor Relations to drive ESG disclosure best practices.
  • Provide technical ESG accounting and reporting expertise to internal teams.
  • Partner with external auditors and assurance providers to facilitate ESG assurance activities.

Process Improvement & Strategy:

  • Continuously enhance ESG reporting processes to align with evolving regulatory requirements and investor expectations.
  • Develop training and guidance materials to strengthen ESG controllership capabilities across the organization.
  • Monitor emerging ESG disclosure trends and provide strategic recommendations.

The expected salary range for this role is $112,860 – $143,900 per year

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Sustainability, or a related field. CPA, CFA, or ESG-related certification preferred.
  • 6 years of experience in financial controllership, reporting, audit, or ESG-related fields.
  • Strong understanding of ESG reporting frameworks (CSRD, ISSB, SEC Climate Rule, GRI, TCFD, SASB).
  • Experience in implementing internal controls and governance processes for financial or ESG reporting.
  • Proficiency in ESG data management tools and financial reporting systems.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
