About us
McDonnell Nursery is a garden center in Orinda, CA 94563. Our goal is to find someone who loves plants and the outdoors and will fit in with a small family business. We have positions open for part-time salespeople, with potential for full-time.
We are looking for a friendly, hardworking person with sales experience and a love of plants. We are looking for someone with great communication skills and a drive to work hard. Excellent customer service is very important to our team.
Our nursery is open Wednesday thru Sunday and this position would require at least one weekend day.
Job qualifications and responsibilities:
- Knowledge of plants and nursery products from retail nursery or horticulture related experience a plus
- Provide excellent customer service from greeting the customer all they way thru to final sale and carry-out
- Be able to safely lift heavy plants and/or bags of soil and be able to work on your feet for the majority of your shift
- Answer phones
- Assist in the opening and closing of nursery
- General maintenance and cleaning of plants and the nursery itself
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
