QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Advanced secretarial and computer skills, including a working knowledge of various applications.
2. Knowledge of operating computer and specific software programs relative to school operation.
3. Previous secretarial experience.
4. Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-task environment.
5. Maintain good rapport with coworkers and community.
6. Maintain confidentiality of District and school business.
7. Have an interest in education and be able to work with students.
8. Such alternative to the above as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO: Assistant Principal
JOB GOAL: To establish and maintain a high standard of professionalism in the operation of projects, initiatives, and daily functions.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Handle confidential information concerning employees and students.
- Prepare correspondence and reports for the Assistant Principal.
- Schedule meetings for Assistant Principal for Quarterly Goal Meetings.
- Handle telephone and counter duties including maintaining mail room for staff, sending faxes fir building, and serving as building secretary as needed.
- Maintain discipline records and prepare discipline reports and correspondence.
- Prepare opening and closing day materials for teachers.
- Distribute and process parking permits and manage Infinite Campus records.
- Cross-train and cover Welcome Center, library, and building secretary as required.
- Maintain obligation files and forward to MEC for billing.
- Arrange for substitute teachers through ESS. Coordinate classroom coverages for teachers.
- Greet Substitute teachers.
- Maintain records for emergency drills.
- Maintain inventory of forms needed for record keeping, i.e., discipline reports, fee collections, obligations, etc.
- Maintain the building key inventory and manage system of student locker assignments.
- Assist in the maintenance of copiers including replacing toner and staples.
- Schedule and maintain agenda for Safety meetings.
- Assist in the coordination of building wide initiatives including clubs/activities, Principal Award Ceremony, Career Day, AP Testing prep, Student of the Month, and weekly newsletters.
- Prepare and send mailings including truancy and discipline letters.
- Ensure volunteer packets are complete.
- Provide secretarial support for all matters regarding the assigned grade.
- Any other duties assigned by the Superintendent or their designee.
