McFarland Clinic is currently accepting applications for Prior Authorization (CMA / LPN / RN) for its Ames office. Candidates should be service-oriented, a team player, and be able to provide extraordinary care, every day to our patients.
Responsibilities include :
- Treats each contact (patient, family, visitor, physician, peers and other Clinical employees) as the most important person of the moment by friendly acknowledgement, responsiveness and courtesy.
- Maintains strict confidentiality in all matters relating to McFarland Clinic, its patients and its employees.
- Complies with established Clinic policies and procedures.
- Utilizes proper channels to voice concerns, suggestions and / or complaints.
- Attends department meetings and participates on committees as requested.
- Assists in performing office duties as directed by department managers, and or physicians and nurses.
- Coordinates insurance authorization activities, high cost radiology, cardiology and / or medications.
- Maintains statistics of prior authorization data.
- Maintains files on various insurance company authorizations and protocols for prior authorizations.
- Performs related work as required.
- Stay informed of new prior authorization requirements
- Review denials for opportunities and communicate this back to departments
- Assist in working the denial work queue due to prior authorizations
