What are the responsibilities and job description for the YMCA Lead Basketball Coach/Instructor - Saturdays - Free Membership position at McGaw YMCA?
Scheduling: Saturdays from 10:00-1:15pm, 3 groups of younger elementary age beginner/recreational participants
The McGaw YMCA is seeking a lead basketball coach/instructor to deliver upon our high-quality recreational sport values in our Evanston community.
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate basketball programs.
- Build a positive relationship and environment for children, parents and staff.
- Achieve and measure program outcome, benefit and retention goals.
- Communicates with participant families before/after session.
- Contributes to game day experience through coaching and officiating.
- Provides guidance to staff and volunteers. Fill in during supervisor absence.
- Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergency procedures.
- Support the YMCA's mission and center operations as needed.
- Opportunity to grow hours with supplemental programming and small group/private instruction.
Job Type: Part-time
