Are you looking to get your foot in the door of a stable company that has room for growth? McGuire Bearing Company is a family-owned business that has been distributing bearings and power transmission equipment for 70 years.
We now have an opening for a full-time Business Development Representative (BDR). The BDR generates new sales opportunities and adds qualified leads to the sales funnel. This role is an outbound sales representative and is responsible for prospecting, following up, and passing on qualified leads to other sales agents who will convert them into new customers. This position requires strong organizational and communication skills, sales experience, and a desire to win each opportunity through excellent relationship-building and salesmanship.
Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Great benefits include medical, dental, 401(k), and profit sharing. Please note that this position is on-site in Portland, OR.
To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience developing leads from marketing campaigns, prospecting activity, or inbound contact information OR a willingness and desire to learn. You will use your communication skills to cultivate strong relationships with potential customers, from first contact until you hand them off to outside sales to pursue an active opportunity. Ultimately, you will boost sales and contribute to our long-term business growth.
This position works closely with the Director of Corporate Sales and the Corporate Sales Manager and reports to the Business Development Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Contact potential customers through cold calls and emails
- Nurture potential customer relationships to build awareness in our products
- Present our company to potential clients as first point of contact
- Identify client needs and suggest appropriate products/services
- Proactively seek new business opportunities in the market
- Set up meetings or calls between (prospective) clients and Account Executives
- Stay up-to-date with new products / services
- Participate in after-action reviews and suggest/coordinate improvements to sales systems.

EXPERIENCE
- You are a self starter, requiring minimal supervision
- You are customer obsessed, and believe that the “Customer is King”
- Knowledge of the power transmission supply industry and products (is a plus, but not a requirement to be successful in the role)
- Previous outbound sales experience is a plus
- Software - ideally with Google Suite and HubSpot
