As the first point of contact for patients, you'll play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service. You'll warmly greet patients, assist with their needs, schedule appointments, and ensure that all personal information is accurately updated. Plus, you'll get to work with a team that truly cares about making every patient's visit to MCHC a comfortable and productive experience.
Duties Include:
- Efficiently and effectively answers, screens and routes calls utilizing a multi-line phone system.
- Monitors, checks, and responds to voice mail messages throughout each workday.
- Schedules and maintains patient appointments, in a diligent manner. Conducts daily patient appointment confirmation calls.
- Prepares for next day’s appointments by verifying patient eligibility, determining if balances are due, checking flag notes, and ensuring we have the necessary forms.
- Discusses fees, collects payment, and directs patient to Patient Financial Services, as needed, with paperwork for sliding scale. Prepares encounter slip and delivers to provider’s POD.
- Oversees the completion of registration and health history forms for new patients, and the review of previously completed history forms, for returning patients. Gathers patient information regarding current dental concerns.
- Provides patients with necessary forms and assist patient in completing forms, as needed. For example: Patient Registration Packet-Acknowledgment, Health History Forms, Release of Information, and 3rd Party Consent
- Travels to other site locations

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- One or more years’ customer service experience
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend English
- Have and maintain a valid California Driver’s License. Must carry liability/bodily injury on his/her automobile(s) used for work
Other Preferred Qualifications:
- Spanish language skills, fluent
- Two or more years’ experience in healthcare, in a similar position or in another industry, in a customer service role
