The McHenry County Public Health Department has an opening for a Full Time Public Health Nurse in their Maternal Child Health program. This position ensures the provision of quality nursing care and health education in accordance with best nursing practices. The Public Health Nurse will provide medical case management, lead screenings, and immunizations to optimize the health status of eligible participating families within the service functions of the Maternal Child Health programs.Work Week : Monday - Friday 37.50 hours a weekJOB FUNCTION :
- Provide case management for the High Risk Infant and HealthWorks programs to ensure access to care.
- Provide nursing assessment including developmental screenings for high risk infants.
- Provide testing and case management for the lead screening program.
- Provide ongoing education for optimal health.
- Visits to caseload will be both in office and in the home.
- Responsible for accurate and timely entry of assessment data for assigned caseload.
- Performs other duties as assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
- Registered Nurse with A.D.N or diploma and two (2) years of experience in community health or maternal and child health nursing, or
- Registered Nurse with B.S.N. and one (1) year of experience in maternal and child health nursing.Health Dept other requirement COVID vaccinationsAll Health Department staff are required to be up to date on the COVID vaccination series as determined by the CDC, including the latest booster from September 2023, as a term and condition of employment with the Department.
