Summary
We are seeking a Housekeeping Coordinator to join our team at McHenry County. In this role, you will coordinate and monitor the day-to-day operations of housekeeping staff.
Applicable candidates must have supervisory experience in order to perform the functions of this role.
Work Week: Monday-Friday 3pm - 11pm No weekends
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Communicate and monitor policies, procedures and standards for housekeeping and floor care; recommend improvement when necessary.
- Communicate and follow up with contractors that provide janitorial services at various County facilities.
- Assist with housekeeping duties such as cleaning floors, restrooms, offices, break rooms of various County facilities and help complete project work as required to maintain schedule.
- Hold team accountable regarding quality of work, interactions with clients and staff and adherence to policies.
- Conduct daily informal and weekly formal quality assurance checks, report results to management.
- Motivate team members to resolve issues as they occur.
- Manage time off requests and occurrences per policy using Kronos software.
- Plan, allocate, and monitor time, people, equipment, and other resources for the Facilities Management Department to ensure efficient organization and daily completion of work.
- Reports items needing repair, maintenance and/or unsafe condition of facilities.
- Inventory & Budget Control, manage and order supplies while maintaining budget.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Valid Driving License.
Requirements
- Proven experience in housekeeping management or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques and safety standards.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with staff and other departments.
- Experience leading or managing a team, even in a smaller capacity, is highly valued.
