What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Residential Services position at MCHS Family of Services?
The Director of Residential Services is responsible for ensuring the Residential Program meets agency expectations and goals; works with program staff to ensure that a safe, therapeutic, supportive and accepting environment is maintained for the residents and their families; manages and directs program operations; directs, supervises and evaluates program staff; directly supervises the Residential Supervisors;
- Work with the Program Supervisors and treatment teams to implement and oversee Trauma-Informed Treatment within the program and ensure fidelity to contracts, department goals, and treatment modalities.
- Oversee and meet department goals and contract objectives as well as meet clients emotional, physical, and basic needs.
- Oversee the program staff to ensure that they are functioning within the requirements of their job duties; provide guidance, training, assistance and support to staff when needed. Directly manage staff and be able to effectively perform the program and administrative duties of supervisors or case managers as needed in those roles.
- Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships with public and community agencies. Represent the agency at senior level meetings, regional taskforces, policy forums, workgroups or committees as assigned.
Education Requirements:
- Master’s degree in a human behavioral science such as Social Work (MSW) or a related discipline where 25% of the course credits earned toward the degree are in human behavior sciences.
- Two (2) years’ experience as a supervisor in a residential or inpatient setting working with serious emotional disorder (SED) at-risk youth between the ages of 7 – 17.
- OR
- Bachelor’s degree in a human behaviors schedule such as Social Work (BSW) or a related discipline where 25% of the course credits earned toward the degree are in human behavior sciences.
- Five (5) years’ experience as a supervisor in a residential or inpatient setting working with serious emotional disorder (SED) at-risk youth between the ages of 7 – 17.
