Position Overview:
McHugh Pharmacy Group, a family-owned and operated chain of independent pharmacies is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Compounding Pharmacy Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in pharmacy compounding, knowledge of pharmaceutical formulas, and the ability to prepare medications with precision. As a compounding pharmacy technician, you will be responsible for preparing, labeling, and packaging custom compounded prescriptions as well as maintaining a clean, organized, and compliant workspace.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately prepare compounded medications, including sterile and non-sterile preparations, according to established formulas and procedures.
- Operate and maintain compounding equipment, ensuring safety and compliance with industry standards.
- Follow strict safety protocols and quality control measures to ensure the quality and safety of compounded medications.
- Label medications and packages in compliance with legal and pharmacy regulations.
- Perform inventory management, including ordering and stocking chemicals and supplies.
- Maintain proper documentation of compounded prescriptions and batch records.
- Assist pharmacists with patient consultations when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations related to compounding.
- Work closely with pharmacists and other team members to provide exceptional patient care.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Pharmacy Technician
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a compounding pharmacy.
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical compounding procedures and techniques.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, equipment, and safety standards.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
