Job Description

Salary:

The McIlveen Family Law Firm is now hiring a Senior Litigation Counsel with 5 years of experience. We seek a motivated Attorney with exceptional trial, negotiation, research, and communication skills. The Attorney will develop relationships with clients as they establish legal needs, provide counsel, help them understand their legal options, and represent them in court and negotiations. You will also conduct research, prepare legal documents, and perform other duties to ensure clients receive the best and most cost-effective legal solutions.

To succeed as an Attorney, you should be knowledgeable, attentive, and proactive. You should also be an excellent communicator, negotiator, public speaker, and problem solver.

Salaried position - above-average compensation.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed in NC
  • Graduation from an accredited law school
  • Excellent academic record
  • First chair trial experience
  • Family law experience
  • Specialist in Family Law
  • Recognized by reputable organizations such as SuperLawyers, Best Lawyers in America, and Legal Elite.

Job Duties:

  • Advise clients regarding ongoing litigation or explain legal issues they might face or have concerns about.
  • Research the details and evidence involved in cases, such as police reports, DSS reports, or pleadings previously filed in a case, as well as applicable law.
  • Interpret case law and decisions handed down by other applicable courts. This can involve analyzing the effects of many factors that might have been involved in different cases.
  • Develop case strategies.
  • Prepare pleadings and documents such as separation agreements, deeds, and wills.
  • Appear in court before a judge to argue for a client's rights and best interests.
  • Represent family law clients in mediation, hearings, and court.
  • Building relationships with clients based on trust.
  • Negotiate and settle cases.
  • Consult with potential clients.
  • Business development.
  • Meet billable hour requirements.
