Position Overview:
As an Associate Attorney, you will work closely with senior attorneys on a variety of legal matters, including estate planning, elder law, and related litigation. This position requires strong legal research and writing skills, as well as the ability to effectively communicate with clients and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in drafting legal documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance directives
- Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda, briefs, and other legal documents
- Support senior attorneys in litigation, including preparing for hearings, trials, and depositions
- Communicate directly with clients to provide legal advice and counsel
- Handle client matters with professionalism, empathy, and ethical standards
- Manage case files and ensure deadlines are met
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- 0-3 years of legal experience (preferably in estate planning, elder law, or litigation)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to think critically, research complex issues, and provide effective legal solutions
- A confident, ethical, and ambitious individual eager to learn and grow in the field of elder law and estate planning
- Admission to the North Carolina State Bar (or eligibility for admission)
