Job Summary:
The payroll controller is responsible for overseeing the entire payroll process within the organization, ensuring accurate and timely employee compensation by managing payroll systems, calculating wages, deductions, and complying with all relevant labor laws, while also monitoring payroll operations for efficiency and accuracy on a weekly basis. As a key member of the Finance department, you will report directly to the company's controller and work closely with the Human Resources department to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for all employees.
Job responsibilities and description:
- Process weekly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and regulations including verifying hourly timesheet entries.
- Manage and maintain payroll records, including employee information, tax withholdings, and other deductions.
- Resolving errors employees have with timesheets, pay slips and other payroll matters in a timely and professional manner.
- Updating employee bank records when necessary to process payments accurately.
- Prepare and distribute payroll reports and statements.
- Assist with the year-end payroll process, including W-2 preparation and distribution.
- Calculating wages and salaries including pay raises, shift payments and overtime compensation.
- Issuing tax forms and related documentation.
- Calculating and deducting tax and insurance payments.
- Collaborating with the human resources department to maintain employee data.
- Maintain knowledge of payroll laws and regulations and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
- Various duties or tasks relating to your department’s scope of work.
Job requirements:
- Must be a US Citizen or authorized to work in the US.
- Located in the DFW metroplex
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- 4 years of experience in payroll administration
- Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Strong understanding of multi-state payroll principles and compliance requirements

Pay: Weekly, every Friday
