Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (flexible hours). This is a hybrid-remote position. A minimum of 16 hours per week must be completed in-office at our Collegedale, Tennessee office with the remaining time available for remote work.
Pay
Salaried Grade 2, 4, 6 or 8
$48,400 - $85,100 / year, depending on experience and qualifications
The base salary range represents the starting and expected pay for this position. Actual salaries may vary and in some cases may be higher with extensive experience and strong performance.
Job Summary
The Graphic Designer will work as part of an in-house team that collaborates with Marketing, Brand, and Product Managers to help develop, execute and maintain excellent design standards of in-house brands and assure accurate and beneficial content across all channels.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist in the development and implementation of consumer packaging, store display materials, marketing materials, and other various digital and print applications
- Maintain brand equity based on corporate initiatives and operational plans
- Work with Package Administrators to assure government compliance on ingredient lists, net weight, and nutrition facts using FDA design standards
- Review and approve artwork to ensure accuracy before print
- Research, conceptualize and create on-trend packaging designs for our consumer products based on market research, management input, and corporate initiatives
- Design marketing collateral or brand identity as needed for the company
- Coordinate effectively with other company professionals to obtain information for packaging
- Communicate with external vendors to develop artwork and keep packaging current
- Provide packaging mockups as needed
- Establish color standards and obtains color approvals
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or two years of post-secondary education at an accredited school or equivalent combination of education and experience (two years of experience can be substituted for 1 year of education)
- Competency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, etc.)
- Excellent portfolio of design work demonstrating a high level of design proficiency
- Microsoft Office Suite competency
- Demonstrates increasing capacity to take on multiple projects
- Appropriately represent the company to outside vendors
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple demands
- Goal-oriented and results-driven
- Dependable with a high level of initiative and self-motivation
- Willingness to accept occasional travel assignments
- Remain abreast of technological advances in the field and be able to identify areas of use in the organization
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or four years of post-secondary education in Graphic Design or related fine arts field at an accredited school
- 2 years of related graphic design experience
- Knowledge of flexographic and offset printing techniques and prepress process
- Familiarity with press approvals
- Prior participation experience on cross-functional teams
- Package design development across a CPG brand
- Product photography experience
- Point of purchase display production experience
- Knowledge of FTC and FDA laws
- Experience with online consumer promotions
- Experience with direct consumer email
