The IT Systems Analyst is an entry-level position that is responsible for supporting the evaluation, implementation, and maintenance of IT systems to meet business needs. This role reports to the Senior Systems Analyst and involves assisting with system analysis, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with IT teams to improve system functionality. This role offers an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or early-career professionals to develop technical and analytical skills while gaining hands-on experience in system analysis and IT support.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with the administration, implementation and support of all existing and new software business applications campus-wide.
- Create and customize reports using SQL queries to extract and analyze data to meet the reporting needs of the university.
- Collaborates with other university departments to identify and optimize system applications and processes within the Student Information System and other software business applications.
- Assists with the process of recommendations to system applications and processes to promote positive outcomes.
- Collaborate with other university departments to understand their requirements and make recommendations for the executions of how technologies should be utilized to meet the needs of the university.
- Consults with the department on the execution of testing procedures and other processes to improve the overall quality of technologies.
- Assist with system related problem management by partnering with IT staff to develop and support resolutions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in MIS or equivalent education and work experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of SQL.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 years of IT support experience.
- Demonstrated skills in customer service, verbal and written communication, multi-tasking, teamwork/collaboration, time management, problem solving and independent task completion.
- Knowledge and understanding of higher education organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures.
Work Conditions:
- On location office environment.
- 40 hours per week.
- Normal workday hours (8:00am-5:00pm). On occasion some evening and weekend work may be required.
