Duties
- Perform sterilization procedures on dental and surgical instruments using appropriate techniques and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes, including tracking the use of instruments and monitoring sterilization cycles.
- Assist in the preparation of medical records and documentation related to sterilization activities.
- Collaborate with dental professionals to ensure that all necessary instruments are available for procedures.
- Utilize aseptic techniques to prevent contamination during instrument handling.
- Stay informed about current best practices in sterilization and infection control.
Requirements
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality practices.
- Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy, and four-handed dentistry techniques is preferred.
- Experience with sterilization equipment and procedures, including X-Ray and Dentrix software, is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety within the workplace.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting or relevant certification in sterilization practices is advantageous.
