Warehouse Inventory Specialist I
Essential duties:
- Ensure correct and complete labels are attached to all orders processed, inbound and outbound.
- Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate methods.
- Open boxes, crates and other containers as needed to check for shipping damage.
- Maintain hazardous materials for proper storage or disposal.
- Maintain lay-down area so material is assessable and protected from the elements.
- Breakdown crates, containers and cardboard and dispose of in proper containers.
- Organize used batteries for proper storage and disposal.
- May be assigned facilities maintenance duties as needed.
- Sweep, dust and mop shop and office areas as needed.
- Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times.
- Operate a variety of warehouse equipment and vehicles.
- Utilize a variety of hand tools as required.
- Move materials and material from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas.
- Arrange for the maintenance and repair of warehouse equipment as needed.
- Keep common vehicles and material handling equipment clean and fueled.
- Use and wear the proper safety equipment as required by the task assigned.
- Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to product type or size.
- Ensure warehouse is accessible and safe for service technicians, office staff and customer traffic.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Facilitate shipping and receiving by unloading trucks, checking in freight, matching purchase orders to sales orders and scan/distribute paperwork to parts and sales associates for processing.
- Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed and/or shipped.
- Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves, or relocate orders to a holding area or shipping department.
Job Requirements:
- CLEAN driving record—critically important.
- Highly organized, punctual and reliable.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Computer skills (proficiency in Microsoft Office, etc.)
- Basic accounting and numeracy skills.
- Physically fit for lifting and moving equipment (up to 60 lbs.)
- Professional appearance and attitude.
- High School Degree or Equivalent plus 2 years industry experience.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Salesforce.com.
- Forklift driving experience.
- Box truck driving experience. (26 feet)
Work Schedule:
- Monday through Friday 6:30am – 3:00pm first 90 days move to 7:30am to 4pm after 90 days.
