SUMMARY
The Branch Sale Manager is responsible for the overall performance and profitability of the assigned branch by managing all sales activities and contributing to the successful operations management for the branch. Responsible for performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for Branch P&L in coordination with Branch Operations Manager.
- Spend 70% of the time in the field prospecting for new business and visiting current customers to enhance our business relationships.
- Document all important activities such as calls, emails, meetings into CRM system to manage the territory more effectively.
- Maintain and increase competitive opportunity database in the CRM to help identify short term and long-term equipment needs.
- Develops and implements branch strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals for trailer Rentals, Leases, Sales, Fleet Acquisition and Yard Storage.
- In conjunction with Regional VP, guides sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals for the branch.
- Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs, price schedules and discount rates in coordination with Regional VP and Mckinney Executive team.
- Represents company at trade association meetings to promote the company.
- Meets with key clients, maintaining relationships, negotiating rates, and closing deals.
- Prepare weekly sales reports showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
- Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition.
- Recommends budget, expenditures, and appropriations for branch sales activities.
- Responsible for managing delinquent accounts and assisting in collection efforts,
- Represents company at trade association meetings to promote products and services.
- In conjunction with the Operations Manager, reviews fleet for underutilized or underperforming assets and recommends fleet additions through annual CAPEX rollup.
- Other duties may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma, GED, Associates or Bachelor’s degree. 3-5 years’ experience in a transportation related industry (with that experience being in sales preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have five or more years of supervisory experience.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Strong work ethic and a desire to succeed.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Written and verbal proficiency in Spanish
- Attention to detail and highly organized.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and database systems.
- Keyboard at 40 words per minute.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
Valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
