What are the responsibilities and job description for the Agricultural Engineering Intern position at McLanahan?
Agricultural Engineering Student Interns are considered to be an integral part of the McLanahan Engineering staff and are provided with tasks that are both technically challenging and educationally stimulating. Under the guidance of the senior engineering staff, the student will learn to apply engineering skills while performing and / or assisting with activities directly related to ongoing machinery production, standards implementation, and research & development projects.
Essential Functions / Key Accountabilities :
- Follow direction provided by supervisor or designee.
- Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to, and enforcing, all safety procedures and policies inside and outside the facility, including use of personal protective and McLanahan equipment as required.
- Represent McLanahan Corporation in a positive manner both internally and externally while adhering to the organization's core values.
- Communicate effectively with co-workers, management, customers, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
- Create and revise assembly and detailed fabrication drawings as required consistent with McLanahan standard practices, utilizing Autodesk Inventor 2016.
- Participate in engineering and general design reviews as required.
- Interact with vendors concerning parts they supply or propose to supply.
- Perform data entry and data manipulation within corporate ERP database.
- Keep supervisor advised of work status, workload, problems, and progress as related to work assignments.

Physical Requirements :
This position is typically located in an office setting and requires sitting and standing for long periods of time. The position requires ambulatory skills sufficient to travel domestically. Requires the ability to express or exchange ideas by means of both oral and written communication.
