Housekeeper II

Position Summary:Responsible maintaining cleanliness standards for assigned areas including maintaining hard floor surfaces and carpet surfaces. Follows hospital, departmental, and regulatory agency requirements.Responsible for providing a safe, sanitary environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Follows department cleaning and floor care maintenance procedures for assigned areas.
• Maintains hard floor and carpet surfaces: strips, cleans, waxes and buffs floors; vacuums and cleans carpets, in some cases operates power driven equipment such as floor scrubber and buffer and maintains such equipment.
• Cleans stairwells, cleans corridors and elevators.
• Cleans furniture.
• Disposes of trash, biomedical and solid waste materials to appropriate disposal areas.
• Moves furniture and equipment as requested.
• Alerts supervisor of potential problems and safety hazards.
• Performs other related duties as required and directed.
  
  

Preferred:

• High school diploma or GED.
• One-year of floor care maintenance experience.
• One-year experience in housekeeping or janitorial services
