Clerical Office Coordinator - Sleep Center
Position Summary:
Coordinates patient's schedule, and new patient demographic information and inputs into EMR. Coordinates communications within departmental and registration staff. Responsible for processing patient charges for services rendered and works closely in conjunction with Patient Accounts for Point of Service Collections, patient account reconciliation and monitoring for accuracy and imputing charges. Performs duties of receptionist/clerk as needed.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Coordinates centralized appointment scheduling & assists in the clerical duties
- Responsible for employee timekeeping
- Greets and assists patients with intake process
- Answers inquiries and complaints
- Accepts payments, issue receipts, record keeping of transactions, and maintaining cash drawer.
- Assists Patient Accounts in resolving problem accounts or billing questions. Gather appropriate information for billing purposes & assists in billing projects
- Daily tracking of sleep services, physician referrals and input of schedules.
- Provide support with projects & clerical functions within sleep center. Insurance verification & authorization
- Functions as a liaison between all departments
- Performs other department duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Required:
- Associates degree or equivalent experience in office coordination or management experience
- High typing proficiency
- Medical Terminology
- Extensive computer and data entry skills
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in health care or business
- Previous data entry experience
