Position Summary :
Prepares patients and transports patients to and from Radiology.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities :
1. Prepares patients for transport and transports patient to and from all modalities within Diagnostic Imaging
2. Moves patients from bed to stretcher or wheelchair within department
3. Changes linen on stretchers and cleans equipment
4. Assists with outpatient changing examination
5. Interacts with patients while awaiting examination
6. Performs other department related duties as assigned
Qualifications : Required :
- High School diploma or equivalent
- BLS certification within 6 months of hire
Preferred :
Previous experience / training in patient transportation techniquesKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

Patients are often scared, anxious and in pain when in need of transportation with in the hospital. Consideration and gentleness must always be demonstrated. Effects to put the patients at ease and make them comfortable are constantly expected.Operates the follow Machinery : information systems computer terminal, stretchers, wheelchairs, lift equipment, basic med pump knowledgeParticipates in Medical Center and / or departmental quality assessment and continuous quality improvement activities as directed through identification of quality improvement opportunities, goal setting, collection and evaluation of date, implementation of action plans, or related applicationsAccess to Protected Health Information in any format, whether oral, written, or through electronic information systems will be in accordance with HIPAA guidelines and subject to disciplinary action when misused.
