Title: Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Department Manager
Location: Houston, TX
MIW is seeking a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Department Manager for our client, a well-established engineering firm specializing in geotechnical and construction materials testing. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, hold a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Texas, and have strong management and technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the Construction Materials Testing (CMT) department, including both laboratory operations and field technicians.
- Supervise and schedule technicians providing services to public and private sector clients.
- Conduct testing and analysis of soils, concrete, asphalt, and steel materials.
- Assist with client interactions, proposal writing, and business development efforts.
- Review field and laboratory test data, invoices, and technical reports.
- Troubleshoot construction issues and provide technical guidance to field personnel.
- Review and sign CME (Construction Materials Engineering) reports.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Must be a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Texas or eligible for licensure.
- Ability to work up to 55 hours per week.
- Strong management, technical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Experience with A2LA accreditation is a plus.
