Job Title: Environmental Specialist
Job Location: Vandenberg Space Force Base, CA.

30 hours of work expected on site Monday-Wednesday weekly.

Job Description:

On behalf of our client, we are seeking an Environmental Specialist to join the team! This position involves monitoring operations across multiple construction sites to ensure adherence to environmental regulations. The specialist will provide compliance guidance, conduct site reviews, and assist in implementing corrective actions as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Reviewing operations at multiple construction sites and environmental compliance for each site
• Providing compliance guidance and assisting with the implementation of corrective actions.
• Environmental compliance areas include, but may not be limited to: Air, Hazardous Materials, Hazardous Waste, and Stormwater.

Skills Required:

• Must reside within a 20-mile radius of the Main Gate of Vandenberg or be willing to relocate to the Lompoc, CA area.
• Strong verbal and written skills.
• Ability to lead across all environmental media compliance areas.
• Must have good organizational skills, attention to detail, time accountability, and ability to communicate across multiple levels of the workforce on the construction sites.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint) and Adobe.

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in Environmental Management or a comparable field.

Years of Experience Required:

• At least five (5) years of related work history in technical (environmental compliance) programs.

Certifications required:

• OSHA 40-hour (8-hour refresher) HAZWOPER certification
• California Qualified Stormwater Practitioner certification (eventual, if not current holder)

Clearance:

• Public Trust - will require DBIDS access to the base

Preferences:

• Previous experience with Department of Defense contract work;
• Current 40-hour/8-hour Refresher certification;
• Current QSP certification.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week
