On our client's behalf, we are seeking a Project Manager with 10-15 years of experience to work in our Waterbury, VT office. The Project Manager must know the municipal water market and water-related client services.
What you’ll do:
- Manage and lead projects/tasks and clients in the water system planning, design, and construction of water systems (hydraulic modeling, water treatment, water supply wells, pump stations, distribution storage, and water main projects). Create construction documents and specifications and handle construction oversight/administration for both new construction and rehabilitation work.
- Manage and lead condition assessment evaluations for water system assets including treatment plants, pipelines, and pump stations using a variety of approaches and technologies.
- Manage projects, including scoping, task management, invoices, and final closeout. Plans, schedules, conducts, and/or coordinates detailed phases of engineering work of a major project, or several small-moderate scope projects
- Supervise and support the work of others and mentor junior-level engineers & design technical staff.
- Planning, design, permitting, and construction phase services will include activities focused on the design of municipal water projects, the preparation of project reports, hydraulic models, calculations, drawings, construction plans, and specifications, permitting packages, and documents for inclusion in the final project deliverables
- Coordination with clients, sub-consultants, regulatory agencies, and members of the public will be necessary to accomplish assigned objectives
- Make technical presentations
- Lead project teams in designing and delivering water conveyance systems and facilities design, including related studies.
- Review assigned project(s) to define project scope, determine work procedures/sequences, and develop schedules, budgets, staffing, sub-consultant involvement, and progress billing points.
- Perform sophisticated and complicated designs and calculations following established standards and software.
- Support procurement including supplier qualifications, bid reviews, process design requirements, review of design drawings and supplier documents, successful resolution of manufacturing discrepancies, support for installation, generation of as-built drawings, and onsite support.
- Participate in construction support activities including responses to requests for information (RFIs), submittal reviews, construction site visits, design revisions/ management of change, startup and commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Pursue new work associated with planning, design, and construction administration of a variety of water-related projects for public clients as proposed project manager on competitive pursuits, including positioning, marketing strategies, proposing, participating in interviews, and negotiating contracts, to the extent required.
- Participate in professional organizations and technical committees.
What you will bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree in environmental engineering or civil engineering required, Master’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering a plus.
- P.E. license or the ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.
- 10-15 years of working with municipal clients in engineering or project management roles.
- Strong written and verbal communication and technical skills along with project plans and presentations.
- Planning, organizing, and controlling the activities of a project team.
- Experience with the design of municipal water facilities and/or conveyance infrastructure.
- Demonstrated capabilities and success in managing medium to large projects on time and within budget, multi-office projects, and/or multiple projects.
- Established relationships with municipal clients.
- Driver’s license required.

Pay: $96,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
