GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Instruct courses in Medical Terminology (HPRS 1206). Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to: participating in college committees, promoting and supporting the department's mission and goals, leading extra-curricular activities, participating in professional development activities, working across departments to develop student communication and problem-solving skills, academic advising for students and maintaining office hours. Faculty are expected to accept courses as assigned which could include face-to-face and non-traditional venues, such as evening, weekend, dual credit, blended, and/or online courses.
NOTE: This is a security sensitive position and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this position.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Physical effort-restricted: Sustained posture or intense attentiveness for prolonged periods. Light lifting (less than 30 lbs.), some walking, pushing, pulling on a regular basis. Work environment-Minimal hazard/exposure: Standard office setting. At least minimal environmental controls to assure health and comfort.
BENEFITS:
Part-Time Retirement. Participation in Medicare Part A, but not Social Security (FICA).
QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in a healthcare discipline with current certification in health discipline
Experience: Five years of recent employment/clinical experience in a healthcare facility
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a health-related discipline
