McLeod Centers for Wellbeing is currently searching for a Full-time Medical Unit Secretary to work in its Residential program at its headquarters in Charlotte.
How will you help us achieve our mission? You will:
- Perform general clerical duties such as filing, answering phones, and managing patient records.
- Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Serve as a communication liaison between healthcare providers, patients, and visitors. Relay information between patients, doctors, nurses, and other team members.
- Schedule patient appointments, diagnostic tests, and procedures as needed. Ensure accurate and efficient handling of scheduling.
- Maintain accurate, organized, and up-to-date patient files and medical records. Ensure compliance with privacy and confidentiality regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
- Provide support to patients and their families by addressing inquiries, providing information, and assisting with needs related to patient care.
- Monitor and maintain office supplies and ensure availability of necessary medical forms and documents for unit use.
- Help facilitate the daily operations of the medical unit, ensuring smooth workflow and optimal support for the clinical team.
What are the qualifications needed for this role?
We're looking for a minimum High School diploma or equivalent; Previous experience in a medical office, healthcare setting, or administrative role highly preferred.
