Job Summary:
The Assistant Project Manager (APM) supports the Senior Project Manager in overseeing and coordinating all aspects of a construction project. This role involves working closely with the project team, clients, and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. The APM will assist in managing day-to-day operations, documentation, and project execution.
Manager Responsibilities:
- Helps oversee projects to ensure they are completed on time and to specifications.
- Delegates work and assignments to subcontractors based on expertise, work experience, and time constraints.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Project Support: Work alongside the Senior Project Manager in the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects. Help ensure that all tasks are completed on schedule and within scope. Provide administrative support to the project management team as needed.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain project documentation, including contracts, change orders, progress reports, and meeting minutes. Assist in tracking project milestones and deliverables. Help prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports for clients and senior management.
- Schedule Management: Assist with developing and maintaining project schedules. Track project timelines, identify delays, and work with the project manager to develop solutions to stay on track.
- Cost Management: Help monitor project budgets and expenses, ensuring financial control throughout the project lifecycle. Assist with tracking and processing invoices, purchase orders, and payments. Aid in managing change orders and ensuring proper documentation for additional costs.
- Coordination with Subcontractors and Vendors: Assist in the selection and management of subcontractors and vendors. Help coordinate subcontractor work, ensuring they meet deadlines and project requirements. Monitor subcontractor performance and compliance with contract terms.
- Quality and Safety Management: Help ensure that all construction activities are performed in accordance with safety regulations and quality standards. Assist in conducting site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with project specifications and safety protocols.
- Client and Stakeholder Communication: Function as a liaison between clients, project managers, and subcontractors. Assist in organizing and participating in project meetings and site visits. Support the resolution of issues and concerns raised by stakeholders.
- Risk and Issue Management: Identify potential project risks and assist with mitigation strategies. Help address any project issues or roadblocks in a timely and effective manner.
- Permit and Compliance Management: Assist in obtaining necessary permits, licenses, and approvals for the project. Ensure compliance with building codes, local regulations, and contractual obligations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Experience:
- 1 - 3 years of related experience required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to drive in vehicle for extended periods of time and make numerous stops.
- Ability to work indoors and outside in varying temperatures.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
